We are back in the saddle of our trusty Indi, who took us from Phong Nha to tLao Bao border crossing with Laos and then some. We had to get a new 15 day visa free pass for our stay in Vietnam, so this detour was a necessary step )
Hanging out in our hotel pool in Hoi An. We really enjoyed our stay at Kiman Hotel, where we stayed for a week. We used the pool every single day – complete delight, particularly in the scorching summer season.

Jenia and our friend Nastya learn how to drive a scooter under Sergey’s patient guidance. Don’t worry we wear helmets on the road! it was just particularly hot that day and slow driving makes helmets oh so uncomfortable and itchy.
We had high expectations coming into Laos — it had a lot to prove to us, given the blog name and all. It’s funny, while we were there we didn’t quite LOVE it. Yes we enjoyed it, we had great experiences that we appreciated then and there, in the moment. But overall, Laos is sleepy,…
