Founded: 1639 as a nomadic Buddhist center, 1778 in permanent location. Pop: 1,000,000 Ahh Mongolia. Well, what can we say. It was a fascinating experience – we have never seen a country with so many jarring contrasts all coexisting, intertwining so peacefully. We learned a lot, in a short time period, and overall really glad…
Back to the city, back to wifi, warm showers and comfortable beds, back to civilization, back to UlaanBaator.
A walk around downtown Belgrade – a pretty church, an awesome guide, and plenty of sunshine – what more could you ask for?! Day 2 of the Balkans tour wraps up our time in Serbia.
These 9 months of travel have been an incredible learning experience. We’ve seen a lot of good bits: spectacular nature, beautiful people and fascinating cultures. Part of the trip though has been seeing first hand the utter devastation that we as humans are capable of. It has been painful, challenging, and thought-provoking.
Another night time walk around Tbilisi, this time by the holy trinity cathedral in the Avlabari neighborhood. Our last day in this wonderful city.
