20 September 2013 – Beijing, China
Made it to Beijing — which turned out not as scary as we thought!

Our last full day relaxing on Suang Luang beach in Bang Saphan, Thailand. Sergey gives a tour of our bungalows Love at Sea – more like a house – which we liked very much. And of course another look at the Gulf of Thailand.
Floating markets are kind of a thing across much of Southeast Asia. Some functioning, some totally manufactured for tourist consumption, either way floating markets are emblematic of the region where water byways were the main routes of communication, travel, and what have you until just about 60 years ago (!) And in fact, when serious…
Our first day in Hanoi – and it is love. At least with our hotel: Hanoi Culture Hostel. This is hands down the best price to value ratio that we have experienced first hand on this trip. The best bit is the balcony, of course, overlooking the Old Quarter.
A visit to the Russian market Phnom Penh, Cambodia. *So.much.* amazing stuff. Like the recycled cement bag wallet and tote bag that Jenia purchased.
Another day in Albania, another amazing beach. Lukove beach is close to Saranda – maybe 20 minutes by car. Pristine shoreline, beautiful weather, and crystal clear Adriatic sea. Can life get better?
Most definitely our worst, most dangerous transport day on this trip. Welcome to Georgia, where a bus ticket gets you a seat in a private minivan from hell – otherwise known as our epic 9 hour, 3 different buses commute from Mestia to Tbilisi.
