Hanging out in our hotel pool in Hoi An. We really enjoyed our stay at Kiman Hotel, where we stayed for a week. We used the pool every single day – complete delight, particularly in the scorching summer season.
Traveling on a budget meant that we skipped on some of the luxuries that we would normally indulge in on shorter trips. For the most part our sacrifices were in the entertainment category – aka historical sights with exorbitant admission prices were out, as were most of the ‘adventure’ activities, such as ziplines or hot…
We take the norry, aka Cambodian train! A bamboo raft, set on the original network built by the French, and powered by a motorcycle engine. Locals still take it short distances — I think we caught a bunch of school kids going home. If nothing else, it is very scenic and very fun.
