Arrived in rainy and definitely cool Dalat, up in the Vietnamese mountains. A quick stop at a bike repair shop before the highlight of our 5 day easy rider tour, a home stay with our guide, Hai’s family (the latter bit unfortunately not featured in the 4 o’clock!)
Goodbye China! It’s been real. More than a month (if you count 5 days in Beijing). Amazing country. But time for us to go explore the wonders of Southeast Asia. Starting with Bangkok, Thailand. (As an aside — SriLankan = awesome).
Hanging out in Tbilisi on the historic day of the country’s signing of an association agreement with the EU. It was pretty unreal – fireworks, concerts, people celebrating everywhere.
This post will be slightly different than those about other destinations, since it’s not a “new” experience for us (Sergey is actually a native Muscovite and lived in the city full time until he was 16). Beginning of our motorcycle trip through northern and central Vietnam: from Hanoi to Hoi An – 6 days of magical landscapes and two sore bums. Day 1. Phu Yen is tea plantation country, which sets it apart from rice paddies. That and plenty of gorgeous vistas, mountains, and minority villages.
Another transit day. Having a (delicious!) dinner at Sai Tai Mai — south bus station waiting for our minivan from Bangkok to Phetchaburi.
