A visit to the 10th century Banteay Srei temple, the crown jewel of Khmer architecture. Banteay Srei was built by a Brahmin – rather than your typical Varman (king) — in honor of Hindu god Shiva. The rose-colored sandstone carvings are spectacular even in 100+ degree heat. Banteay Srei was one of our favorites in the Angkor complex!
Arrival in Tbilisi. A little tired – after an early morning flight and a long lay-over in Kiev – but super excited. We started to feel welcome straight from the airport — Tbilisi Loves You signs are everywhere. Little did we know, the slogan is for free public wifi, which most of the time did…
Stuck at the border crossing at Naushki, Russia for 5 hours. Talked to the customs officer, made a new friend, Chema from Spain, and helped out a nice Japanese gentlemen – Shinya Watanabe(shinyawatanabe.net)
