We made it to the Tibetan village of Tagong, high up in the mountains, where we visited a monastery after a lengthy hike fighting altitude weakness.
Our first day in Hanoi – and it is love. At least with our hotel: Hanoi Culture Hostel. This is hands down the best price to value ratio that we have experienced first hand on this trip. The best bit is the balcony, of course, overlooking the Old Quarter.
Goodbye China! It’s been real. More than a month (if you count 5 days in Beijing). Amazing country. But time for us to go explore the wonders of Southeast Asia. Starting with Bangkok, Thailand. (As an aside — SriLankan = awesome).
A sunrise visit to the travertines of Pamukkle, Turkey – totally outside of visiting hours. We couldn’t help ourselves — we wanted to appreciate the magical beauty of this natural wonder without all the people. Pamukkle literary means ‘white castle’ and is a wonderful area to play around in )
Another beautiful hike around Mestia, Georgia. This time we made our way up past the airport to climb atop the most unreal hill of wild flowers.
