A visit to the Golden Pagoda and the Dai Nam Van Hien complex about 40 minutes outside Saigon. This place is incredible – a ginormous theme park based on Vietnamese culture and history. No filming allowed inside the actual pagoda, but there is fascinating displays of lady buddahs and a golden statue of Ho Chi…
More wats! Vientiane is full of them, and they are seriously strikingly beautiful. Don’t listen to the naysayers who say that Vientiane isn’t worth a visit — it totally is! Just look at these wats. ) Also featured – the national stuppa that is depicted on Lao Kip.
I hope y’all are enjoying my pun. Because I have been wanting to write it for a year now — basically ever since our first meal in Budapest. Because we ate like there was no tomorrow in Hungary’s capital. We ate as if we’ve been starved for the previous 11 months of our RTW trip….
You know what doesn’t get any better with time when traveling? packing. in fact it gets worse. I really, really dislike doing it. But like clockwork every two, three, five, whatever days, its time to move and its time to pack.
Another look at the Mekong Waterfront in Nong Khai. The small border town really is delightful — and seems a world away from Laos. If you have a chance stay for a day or two, its pleasantly non-touristy.
