Exploring Bangkok with Sergey’s parents.
Exploring Bangkok with Sergey’s parents.
This post will be slightly different than those about other destinations, since it’s not a “new” experience for us (Sergey is actually a native Muscovite and lived in the city full time until he was 16). We also did less sightseeing and more hanging out with family friends than we typically would if we were…
Jenia’s hometown of Petrozavodsk has a gorgeous embankment. Here we are taking a walk among all the marriage ceremonies. The short Karelian summer of mid June to mid August is the most popular time to get married (for obvious reasons).
Hands down our favorite day in Myanmar — there is something very magical about Hpa-an countryside. Or maybe it was all in the timing — who knows. But we wished we could’ve spent longer.
Our last day in India. We meet up with Ashutosh, whom we met at the very beginning via the first guest house that we stayed in in Delhi. How fun! Also we totally spaced out on the 4 o’clock — so this vide is around 8 pm.
Marooned on a desert island in the Gulf of Island…almost. Rabbit Island is a neat little getaway, only 30 minutes by boat from Kep. There are plenty of huts to rent for a few days. No wifi on the island, which makes for lots of reading, writing, and reflecting time.
A visit to the Anitkabir, the eternal resting place of the father of modern day Turkey – Ataturk. A fascinating insight into modern Turkish culture, value system, and national identity. An absolute must if you are in the area.
