Shopping for lacquerware at a family-run workshop (3 generations back we were told) outside of Bagan, Myanmar. The work that these guys put into these pieces is astounding. Albanian coastline continues to amaze us. These gorgeous views are from the Saranda castle restaurant – aka Kalaja e Lëkurësi. I am not sure I’ve seen anything like this ever before — simply stunning. Oh, and happy birthday Diton and Christina!
“Come to Osaka, you will have a lovely time” – Jenia. Exploring Osaka for a day trip, no plan, just exploration. Came across a beautiful rose garden downtown, right before the sunset.
A peak at Sergey’s childhood home — he used to spend his summers in Tbilisi until about 7 years old. The cherry tree is still there, as are the books, pictures, and all the neat other things.
Jenia’s hometown of Petrozavodsk has a gorgeous embankment. Here we are taking a walk among all the marriage ceremonies. The short Karelian summer of mid June to mid August is the most popular time to get married (for obvious reasons).
