Our first day exploring the Balkans. We are in the capital of Serbia, Belgrade — check out the statue of the victor, the confluence of Danube and Sava Rivers, and an old Belgrade fortress. Pretty neat stuff.

Will you look at this duck?! Most delicious meal at Kispiac Bizstro in Budapest – we rarely do this, but we ate there twice. Ridiculously delicious. As is all the food we’ve tried in Hungary. If you have no other reasons to come to this beautiful city — do it for the food. Do it…
A stroll by the parliament of Hungary, hands down the most beautiful political building we’ve seen. They have gilded personal cigarette holders inside! Fancy. Also, watch on for some other monuments that basically represent a snapshot of Eastern Europe today )
Check out our friend’s sweet apartment in Budapest. The view is of the Great Synagogue – the largest one in Europe and second largest in the world! Nice spot for an alfresco lunch, eh? We were very lucky to hang here for a week! Thank you again )
Hanging out in Esztergom, Hungary — enjoying the views over to Slovakia and a visiting the Esztergom Basilica, the center of Catholicism in Hungary.
Enjoying a fancy cocktail and a view of Budapest from the 360 Bar Budapest. Highly recommend, particularly in warm weather )
Meeting up, for the third time on this RTW, with a friend that we initially met in Myanmar. One of the coolest aspect of this journey has been meeting and forming relationships with all sorts of amazing people around the world )
A panorama view of Budapest from the Castle Hill.
Our first day in Budapest was amazing – fell in love immediately. There is so much to do, like hang out by the wading pool downtown — Akvárium klub — and watch all the beautiful people or read a book or play on your phone.
A surprise Buddhist stupa in Moscow – pretty neat discovery for a native Muscovite! And a fitting way to connect our Asia trip with our homeland.
