We secure our train tickets from Shanghai to Wuhan, and breathe a sight of relief.
We are off on Part II of our China adventure, starting with taking the Mag[netic] Lev[itation] train from Pudong airport to Shanghai!
Nobuhiko, our host, took us to check out a local beach. Sad to leave Japan, it’s a magical place.
We say good bye to Kenji, our wonderful host in Tokyo!
A rainy beginning to our Tokyo adventure.
Taking a (grumpy) train from Nagano to stay at a traditional Japanese ryokan and bathe in the onsen baths (which were both delightful!)
One day retreat to Takayama.. definitely a tourist trap as a town, but probably worth it if you are staying more than 2 days for hikes etc.
We take a walk through a maze of o-torri gates at the Fushimi Inari shrine in Tokyo. It is a shinto shrine dedicated ot the gods of rice and sake.
At the geisha dance in Gion Odori, so exciting! Short video, since we are in the theater.
“Come to Osaka, you will have a lovely time” – Jenia. Exploring Osaka for a day trip, no plan, just exploration. Came across a beautiful rose garden downtown, right before the sunset.
Exploring streets of Kyoto, Japan and visiting various temples, stumbled upon a giant shrine right at the sunset. Stumbling upon the Gate of Jingu-michi street.
