27 December 2013 – Hpa-an, Myanmar
Hands down our favorite day in Myanmar — there is something very magical about Hpa-an countryside. Or maybe it was all in the timing — who knows. But we wished we could’ve spent longer.

After getting off the ferry from Busan, South Korea, we are boarding our first Japanese high-speed en route to Hiroshima.
More stunning views from Yangshuo, China. We rented a moped to get around, which was great fun as well 🙂
Marooned on a desert island in the Gulf of Island…almost. Rabbit Island is a neat little getaway, only 30 minutes by boat from Kep. There are plenty of huts to rent for a few days. No wifi on the island, which makes for lots of reading, writing, and reflecting time.
Greetings from the steppe and a tour of a Mongolian ger!
We take a walk through a maze of o-torri gates at the Fushimi Inari shrine in Tokyo. It is a shinto shrine dedicated ot the gods of rice and sake.
A motorbike taxi (xe om) is the preferred way of getting around in Vietnam’s cities. We took a xe om in Can Tho at rush hour (a slightly delayed 4 o’clock) 😉 with our CS host Tran.  Thoroughly recommend the experience, should cost about 20,000 dong($1) anywhere in the center for this rush of excitement….
